In today's show, we will explore the use of lighting in photography both inside the studio and on location. We will look at the subtle and dramatic effects that lighting can have on your images.
John Siskin is a commercial and fine art photographer who makes architectural, portrait and macro images. He has worked for General Motors and Disney Studios, and has taught photography for more than twenty years. His work has been shown at the Brand Library, 2nd City Art Gallery, Harold's Gallery, Farmani Gallery, The Atelier, and has been a participant in the Valley Studio Tour several times. John has published a number of technical articles about photography. His articles have appeared in Photo Techniques, View Camera, Studio Photography and others. John is well versed in photographic subjects, and is often hired as a consultant by businesses.

In today's show you will learn how to create great exposures. We will focus on how your camera meters a scene, how shutter speeds and apertures work separately and in combination, and the art of exposure creating mood and enhancing lighting.

Credits include American Express, Backpacker, California Division of Tourism, Endless Vacation, Fuji Film USA, GEO Germany , Microsoft, National Geographic Adventure & Traveler, The New York Times, Nikon Inc., The North Face, Outside, Random House, REI, Runner's World, Sports Illustrated, Timex, & Via magazine. Sean has shot over 200 assignments for Sunset, & authored numerous feature articles displaying his photography.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial photography from Brooks Institute of Photography, & began his business Arbabi Imagery thereafter combining outdoor, on-location, and studio photography.
Recently , he landed two travel guidebook covers, a pair of magazine covers, a catalog cover, & wrote four feature articles, all the while beginning work on a television pilot about photography. He is also writing a 300-page book entitled "Exposure Photo Workshop" , due to appear on the shelves in August 2007
