The first part of our program today will be with Jeanette Way. She is the 2014 nominee for the George Chandler Award. This award is presented to a community leader who has provided a unique contribution and service to the community.  Jeanette is affectionately known as "The History Lady" and she will share with you how she became known by that description.

In the second part, we are joined by Zora Martinez, of the Julian Chamber of Commerce, to discuss activities in Julian and their support for their Restaurants.

Today, we have Brian Castro with us. Brian is the National Ombudsman
for the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is based in Washington DC and works across the United States to identify issues of importance to small business and help businesses who have problems with regulatory agencies.

Our guest for the final segment of the show today is Dr. Aleta Wilson. Aleta
is the regional director of the San Diego and Imperial Valley Small Business Development Centers or SBDCs. The SBDCs offer counseling to help business start, plan and grow. Their services are provided at no charge. Aleta is a recent addition to the SBDC staff. She moved here from the WDC metro area. Aleta has owned her own business. Has experience in government contracting and has a Ph.D in Philosophy,. Welcome to the show Aleta. Topic of Entrepreneurship.

What is an entrepreneur? OR What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur?

Our guest today, is Robert Gallegos of Global Trade
He is one of the 2014 nominees for the Minority-Owned Small Businesses . The 
winner will be recognized on June 11th
Ceremony held at the Town and Country Hotel and resort in Mission Valley. 
Robert is a product of southern CA schools. He received his AS degree from 
Mesa College in Accounting, his BA in International Business from SDSU and 
his MBA from the University of Redlands. Robert speaks English , Spanish and 
is developing a proficiency in Italian.

Our other guest today, is Karen Burgess.
She is the Lead Business Development Specialist in the Santa Ana District Office 
of the Small Business Administration. This office serves small businesses in 
Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in CA. 
Karen manages a department that administers the SBA’s 8(a) and HUBZone 
Certifications. These programs help small minority and disadvantaged business get government contracts.

Teresa Skrepenski, Principal at Skrepenski & Associates, A Consulting Firm, assists business in grant writing, corporate fund raising, expense reduction, project management, event planning among many other things.  In addition, she also assists inventors in bringing their novel ideas to fruition.

Our first interview is with Eric Taylor ,CEO of a growing company, Enalasys.
Inc. Magazine named this company as the 44th fastest growing company in the U.S. in 2009 and ranked it third in the fastest growing Energy category.
