Ken Druck, nationally recognized author, grief counselor inspirational coach, chats about The Jenna Druck Center, which
he founded in 1996. The center, which provides support and
education to families who have suffered the loss of a child
or a loved one, is recognized for its myriad leadership
programs and conferences for girls. Druck also talks about
his newest book, "The Real Rules of Life: Balancing Life's
Terms with Your Own."
Jose Cruz, President and CEO of the San Diego Council on Literacy,
is joined by Karen Trimble, Board Chair, to discuss the Council's
27-year history of working with the region's literacy affiliates to
provide services to thousands of adult learners and school-age
children. Cruz and Trimble chat about the impact of illiteracy
in our region, along with the Council's signature fundraising events: Eat, Drink and Read, which will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at
Liberty Station.

Sergeant Major Jack Tilley (ret.), Co-founder and Chairman and
CEO of the American Freedom Foundation, is joined by Ted Hacker,
Co-Founder and President and COO of the organization, to discuss
the Foundation's mission and the 4th Annual American Freedom
Festival aboard the USS Midway Museum. The Festival, which will be
held on Saturday, May 25, features the musical group Creedence
Clearwater Revisited, and will benefit Veterans Village of San
Diego, Armed Services YMCA, Reboot San Diego and HomeAid San Diego.
Tilley and Hacker also chat about the "W2 Warriors to the Workforce
Hiring Event," that will be held on Friday, May 24 aboard the USS
Midway.

her organization's signature event, the 11th Annual Visionary Awards, set for Thursday, May 23 at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. Carlson
discusses LEAD's Impact, Influence and Embark programs, as well
the application process for the 2014 LEAD San Diego Impact class
.
Carey Poindexter, a 14-year-old Junior Ambassador for the American Lung Association, is joined by his Mom, Vikita, to chat about "Carey's Champions," Asthma Awareness Month, SCAMP CAMP (a camp
for 300-350 kids affected by asthma), and his annual November
fundraising event in San Diego.

Bruce Braciszewski, Executive Director of the Classroom of the
Future Foundation (CFF), is joined by Mac McLaughlin, President and CEO
of the USS Midway Museum, and Janice Cook, Superintendent of Cajon
Valley Schools, to talk about the Wednesday, May 22 CFF Innovation
in Education Awards ceremony on the campus of USD. McLaughlin will receive the prestigious CFF Visionary and Outstanding Leadership Award at the 10th Anniversary event, while Cook will be honored with the CFF Innovative Superintendent Award.

Randy Jones, San Diego Padres Cy Young Award Winner and longtime
community leader, is joined by Curt Gandy of Fairway Partners, to
talk about the 1st Randy Jones Invitational Golf Tournament Presented
by Sycuan on February 8-9, 2014 at the Torrey Pines Golf Course.
The tournament will be comprised of 36 teams that qualify throughout
2013 by placing first, second or third in charity golf tournaments
in the county.
Alberto Cortes, Executive Director of Mama's Kitchen, chats about
the organization's largest annual fundraiser, Mama's Day, that will
be held on Friday, May 10 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. The event
will feature San Diego's top culinary professionals and restaurants.
Cortes discusses the importance of food drives for Mama's Pantry
Program, along with the organization's expansion and commitment to
those affected by cancer.
