Melanie Krause is an outdoor person.... mountain biking, skiing, white water rafting, viticulture. After graduating with bachelor degrees in Biology and Spanish, and traveling to Asia, she settled down as a vineyard technician for Stimson Lane in Washington. She eventually worked her way up to Assistant Winemaker for Chateau Ste. Michelle's Canoe Ridge Estate Winery specializing in red wines. In 2006 she co-founded Cinder Wines and The Urban Winemakers Cooperative in her hometown of Boise. All wines are made from Snake River Valley fruit.
