02 - Tomatoes and Wine are no cliché at the 12th Annual Kendall-Jackson Winery Heirloom Tomato Festival - Patricia Rossi
Patricia Rossi is the Director of Gardens for Kendall-Jackson Winery. Seed diversity for the foods that we eat and sustainable growing practices are taken extremely seriously at KJ gardens and the visitor's center chateau in Santa Rosa. Every year Rossi joins me to talk up one of my favourite wine and food events in California. This year marks the 12th Annual Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival, Saturday, September 6, 2008. More than 170 varieties of heirloom tomatoes in every size, shape and color imaginable are featured, picked fresh from their Culinary Gardens and sampled on a beautiful Wine Country afternoon. They have learned that tomato colour is a reliable indicator of what kind of wine pairs best. Listen and be amazed.
