This week we start our adventure in San Antonio, home of the Alamo - the cradle of Texas independence. Our first stop is A Yellow Rose Bed and breakfast located in the Historic King William District. King William has the distinction of being what may be the only neighborhood association in the entire state with three historic districts within its boundaries, including the state’s oldest district created by city ordinance and two districts recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. Our tour guide for some of the fun attractions around San Antonio is the B&B’s innkeeper - Deb Field.
Next we head about 30 minutes north of San Antonio to Natural Bridge Caverns one of the most treasured natural attractions Texas has to offer. This historical cavern system offers an experience that is high energy, educational, fun and family oriented - a once in a lifetime experience you'll never forget. When visiting here we find out about panning for precious stones, the Watchtower, the Discovery Tour and the real meaning of caving.
Here we explore a taste of Africa in Texas Hill Country at The Serengeti Resort - a place hidden from the masses but just minutes from everything. Ever dream of an African safari? Well here you can watch African animals graze through a wall of glass or take a safari vehicle and watch the Serengeti as it comes alive just before nightfall. You’ll also find carriage rides, African wines and great restaurants to sample as well. Jim Pendley joins us to share all the great features of this wonderful resort.
During this segment we also take a look at This Week In Music History and visit with senior editor of People Magazine …David Caplan.
Our Destination this week is Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. We take a look at all kinds of cool getaways in the Southwestern region of the state with Anne LaSala. During this segment we also visit with colorful historian, Johnny Walker of Rocky Mountain Tourism. http://www.rockymountaintourism.com/
