Jeff, Kimberly, and Sherri with Special Guest Kathy Smith, known for her best-selling books and fitness DVDs, as well as her committment to numerous worthwhile causes, including The Womenʼs Sports Foundation, the trusted voice of womenʼs sports and physical activity founded in 1974 by Billie Jean King. Kathy Smith is a Trustee Member of The Board for The Womenʼs Sports Foundation, a national charitable educational organization dedicated to advancing the lives of girls and women through physical activity. We are the only national organization promoting all sports and physical activities for women of all ages and skill levels and are acknowledged by the media as the expert resource on all womenʼs sports issues. Their vision is a society in which parents understand the benefits of sports and physical activity participation for both their daughters and their sons and equally encourage them to be active and healthy. Together we want to create a society in which girls and women of all ages fully experience and enjoy sports and physical activity with no barriers to their participation.
On Sunday, March 29 from 1-4 p.m, The Womenʼs Sports Foundation is teaming up with YAS Fitness Centers to host the third annual YAS-a-thon--and wsRadioLA will be there broadcasting the event live! Last year, with 38 people participating and a silent auction, YAS raised close to $30,000 in three short hours! This year, YAS is hoping to go bigger than ever before with all three YAS locations joining in the fun.
YAS will be hosting events at the following locations:
YAS Venice - 1101 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, CA 90291
YAS Silverlake - 1932 Hyperion Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027
YAS Costa Mesa/Newport - 291 E. 17th Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92627
For a $1,000 fundraising minimum per bike, you can take part in this great event and live the Foundation mission. Champion female athletes and the Women's Sports Foundation will be on-site to cheer on the participants, along with great giveaways and a silent auction! Make a gift to support the YAS-a-Thon! Sponsor a YAS-a-thon Rider. To make a difference in the lives of young girls, please contact Sherri Rosen at 310.396.6993 to find out how you can get involved.
