About the Host:
Barbara Rucker has had a glamorous and exciting show business background for more than twenty years. She proudly admits to being a recovering people pleaser, over-achiever and perfectionist. Her illustrious career includes being a top Wilhelmina model, spokesperson for over 2,000 National Television Commercials, film (one of the original Stepford Wives), theatre, print ads for every major fashion magazine, guest star roles on T.V, hosting two of her own talk shows, entertainment correspondent for Inside Edition, and ten years starring on soap operas (As the World Turns, One Life to Live and Texas). Her gift is motivation and encouragement and her heart is to share her truth, experience and hope with other women.
Barbara is blessed and grateful to share her spiritual journey and willingness to be vulnerable and real. She has learned that pain can be a great catalyst for finding truth and joy. Barbara has survived addiction, emotional abuse, miscarriage, bankruptcy, breast cancer, parents’ divorce, the death of her folks, losing her own sense of self and divorcing after 25 years of marriage. There’s not much that she hasn’t experienced as a woman, wife, daughter and mom.
Barbara made a natural transition into the corporate training arena, teaching companies and executives how to be more effective and successful in Sales, Customer Service, Management, Goal Achievement and Leadership. She’s been a free car-driving Mary Kay Director, Executive Recruiter, and Sales & Marketing Professional. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in December 2008, with a degree in Management and Organizational Development.
Her award winning achievement is her two magnificent children: daughter Taylor, a beautiful and creative marketing genius and Property Manager in Bowling Green, Ky. and son Logan, a brilliant and talented Broadcast Journalism major at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando, Fla.
This new chapter in her life includes this online radio show, ½ marathons, ballroom dancing, Zumba, reading, writing a self empowerment book, gardening, gourmet cooking, and she was recently certified in Laughter Yoga.
A breast cancer survivor since 1990, Barbara is honored and privileged to work with many cancer groups and considers these women her heroes. With God as her Director for this exciting production, Barbara’s purpose is to share her truth, strength and hope with women and inspire them to let their radiance shine!
