Army-Navy Game of 1948 Phil Ryan ’50, captain of the 1949 Navy football team, shares his experience as a player during the 1948 game against Army. During this game, Navy tied with Army, who had been the 33-point favorite for the game. While Army took home the game ball, they later sent it over to Annapolis out of respect for how well Navy had played, stating it deserved to be in Navy’s trophy case.
