Deb Evans President & CEO of COMPUTER EXPLORERS with Neil Borman, Master Licensee COMPUTER EXPLORERS Australia, and Nigel Topolis, Master Licensee COMPUTER EXPLORERS United Kingdom!

Global franchising is the subject, with both Neil and Nigel providing insight into the migration of American concepts into the worldwide franchise marketplace. Niel owns the rights to Australia and New Zealand, while Nigel is developing England, Ireland and Scotland. COMPUTER EXPLORERS is the quintessential template for transmitting an organization’s vision and culture around the world with high caliber partners and seasoned professionals like Neil and Nigel. The international discussion is greatly enhanced by the fact that Nigel is a former Chair of the BFA—the British Franchise Association. His commentary on such issues as government policy, financing, and linkage with academia are thoughtful additions to the show and much appreciated.

Joan Kusnierz from Chicagoland trained in Jan 2008 and immediately bonded with CE Team and franchisees. Joans outgoing personality and willingness to help is evident. She organized the first Chicago regional meeting working with Lorri Wyndham developing sessions to meet the needs of the franchisees in the region. When Deb scheduled the Itza Bitza & Microsoft media event Joan eagerly tended to the details (lodging, scheduling of meetings and chauffeur!) Joan doesnt hesitate to reach out to help other franchisees and the CE Corporate Team!

Its our honor as the CE Corp Team to introduce you to this years Franchisee of the Year from North Carolina Robin Scott! Franchisees selected for Franchisee of the Year have attributes of positive growth, support of corporate initiatives and leadership through effective communication. The Franny nomination as we affectionately refer to the award is taken very serious with the CE Corporate Team. The Team meets to review the list of Franchisees and carefully make a nomination list and discuss. The Team agreed that not only did this years nominee show positive growth, support of corporate initiatives and leadership through effective communication but this Franchisee is a mentor to the system, strongly supports and implements new programs whether its distributing newsletters through Constant Contact, embracing social media with Facebook and Twitter or becoming a strong contributor as FAC Rep

Jeff interviews Frank Milner who has a deep knowledge of childhood development, and explores with Frank the global issues confronting education today. Frank Milner, President of Tutor Doctor, has been instrumental in the rapid expansion and market success of the one-on-one tutoring franchise. Milner is known for growing one of Canada's hottest technology franchises to top in its category. Milner became involved with Toronto-based Tutor Doctor in 2007 and has seen the rise of tutoring become so pervasive that it has changed the face of Canadian and American education. Tutor Doctor is a leader in providing affordable one-on-one supplementary education to students and adults through offering in-home tutoring to families. The company also leverages a leading-edge e-tutoring platform to reach cities and regions throughout the world not yet serviced by a local Tutor Doctor office. The Tutor Doctor platform offers many advantages compared to the traditional "learning center" tutoring model. About 10 years ago, John Hooi had a simple idea and a desire to make a difference. He wondered why parents had to adjust their family's busy schedules and drive half way across town just to put their child in another classroom with more kids...when in fact it was the classroom experience that their child was struggling with in the first place. Over the last 10 years, the Tutor Doctor vision has taken shape. In 2003 the company turned to franchising as a way of expanding the company's impact and meeting the vast market demand. Now with offices internationally, the Tutor Doctor vision is becoming a reality as the lives of students and their families are being positively impacted.

Dana Oliver has a personal story to tell about overcoming challenges, life-changing events, and creating a great concept that combines oportunity, passion, and lifestyle all in one. Dana is the founder of the “drop-in” childcare franchise, Adventure Kids Playcare, to address a common parenting dilemma – what to do when reliable and safe childcare is not available at a moments notice. Dana Oliver grew up in a family that sometimes cared for foster children and her father was an entrepreneurial-minded small business owner. Dana knew if she ever had kids, she would adopt and that she one day wanted to own her own business . Dana started her first location in 2004 and started franchising the “drop-in” childcare concept in 2006. Adventure Kids Playcare now has 7 locations in the DFW Metroplex. They are seeking unique individuals to award their AKP franchises. Qualified applicants must have an energetic and positive personality, love being around children and making a difference in their lives, and possess strong people skills. Applicants should also be committed to the highest quality of customer service and operational excellence. Read more about Dana's personal story on our Show Blog. Thank you, Bage and Liz, for great interviews with your distinguished clients--they are always welcome on the show, as are the two of you. Guest: Dana Oliver
