Who knows where top execs are when they’re growing a company at 30+ stores per year? No one, but we found Scott at DIA (Denver International Airport), and Dave oddly enough in Denver where he lives. Prior to the show, it seemed like Smashburger was an emerging concept. After the show, it was clear it had not only emerge—it was blasting off around the country. Honolulu next?

Zane Tankel is not afraid of controversy—he knows that countering the “it’s never been done so it won’t work” mentality in any arena can be controversial, but he told Applebee’s it would work. . . . .and he was right.
