Chris Long, President of Cappex.com, talks about the features of this free site, which helps match high-school seniors with colleges that fit each student’s profile and interests. It also gives students listings of the merit aid available at each college, and provides information about how likely that student is to get admitted to any particular college (based on grades, test scores, gender, ethnicity, and more).

Dr. Linda Mitchell, Chair of the Congressional Award Programming Committee, describes this national but non-competitive award that motivates young people to challenge themselves in each of four areas: volunteer service, personal development, physical fitness, and exploration. Students aged 14 through 24—including those with less than stellar grades or those with disabilities—can set their own challenges and earn recognition at the bronze, silver, and gold certificate levels before achieving the bronze, silver and gold medal awards.
