BetterPhoto Instructor - Scott Stulberg
When Scott was ten years old, a whole new world opened up for him when his parents built a darkroom for him in the basement. Under the safelights, smelling chemicals and listening to music, he lost all track of time watching his images come to life. Although he’s been using Photoshop for many years, it was the countless hours in the darkroom that made him fall in love with photography.
Scott teaches digital photography and Photoshop at UCLA Extension in Los Angeles, Digital Workshops at camera stores and has run Macintosh Graphics User Groups for many years. He is a beta tester for all kinds of software for Photoshop, writes articles for digital imaging magazines and is constantly looking for new techniques to improve his photography and Photoshop skills.
Scott’s main focus is on stock photography and he is represented by Corbis and Superstock. Shooting stock has enabled him to explore new places all over the globe and venture out into the middle of nowhere looking for great photo opportunities.
“I have had many photography awards, magazine covers and photo exhibitions, which is always motivating and special but I have realized something that I think is more important, at least for me; I love to shoot. It’s not a job to me. It’s what I love. Whether it’s 2am in Bangkok in the suffocating humidity or paragliding 5,000 feet up in the air, I just love having the camera with me. And after all these years to still have that love for photography ... well, I think that is the most important thing in the world to me.”

BetterPhoto Instructor- Jim Zuckerman
“Few people are able to spend most of their time pursuing their passion in life. I'm one of them, and I feel blessed to have had a love affair with photography since I began taking pictures.” – Jim Zuckerman
In 1970, Jim decided to abort his intended career as a doctor in favor of photography and has never regretted it. His career has taken him to over 60 countries, and he has seen and photographed wondrous things.
Jim specializes in wildlife and nature, international travel, and digital effects. In addition, he also shoots photo- and electron microscopy, children, and other subjects. For 25 years, he shot a medium format camera, specifically the Mamiya RZ 67, for its superior quality. However, he went digital in 2004 because the technology finally equaled or surpassed medium format. He now shoots with the Canon 1Ds Mark II digital camera with a variety of lenses.
Jim has written 12 books on photography which are sold in 30 countries around the world. His images have appeared on scores of magazine and book covers, calendars, posters, national ads, trade ads, brochures, and corporate promotions.
Author of Techniques of Natural Light Photography , Professional Photographer’s Guide to Shooting & Selling Nature & Wildlife Photos , Perfect Exposure: Jim Zuckerman's Secrets to Great Photographs ... and more
For many years I've led photography tours to exotic places. These include Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Burma, Greece, The Czech Republic and Slovakia, Spain, Morocco, and Peru.
