Published by Shen’s Books in California, it is the latest best-seller from Shen’s extensive catalog of ethnic diversity titles. |

3 Dr. Karen Karle, founder and president of Dementia Caregiver Resources, Inc., also hosts caregiver cruises. She is a facilitator, counselor, teacher, clinician, author and a certified Alzheimer’s trainer for the Florida Department of Elder Affairs. Her monthly column “The Caregiver’s Path” reaches a circulation of over 450,000 in 13 counties. She works with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and is a past Volunteer of the Year through the Alzheimer’s Association. She has been on the path of caregiving since 1959. |

Show Date: 07/10/04 Don Larsen is a retired school principal in his late seventies. After celebrating their fifty-fourth anniversary his wife’s health broke and Don had to learn caregiving. After a number of trips to the emergency room and hospital stays, the couple was told in a hospital room on Christmas day that she needed a rest home and his health was no longer up to caregiving. Don decided to put his feelings and notes into a book, "I've Never Been an old Man", to help people understand the problems of aging and eldercare. |
