She received the 2001 Presidential Award from the Association of Schools & Agencies for the Handicapped.

Dr. Gil Snider is the senior partner of Neurological Associates of Hampton Roads and assistant clinical professor of Neurology at the Eastern VA Medical School. He’s practiced Neurology in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, VA, for over 20 years, and he lectures to medical professionals and the public about Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and other neurological topics. He used his experiences and medical knowledge to write "Brain Warp: A Medical Thriller", a fictional medical suspense story.
